Bees Try to Steal Bike; NYPD Responds

By

On Tuesday afternoon, the NYPD responded to an agonizingly slow — and only partly successful — theft in Midtown. A swarm of bees appeared to be trying to colonize a bike locked up on the corner of 56th Street and Seventh Avenue.

One officer told DNAinfo, “We have no idea why the bees are here, but we’re working to get them removed.”

It is not clear whether anyone has told the bees they should buy a Citi Bike membership before trying to borrow unattended bikes again.
