Just before 5 p.m. this afternoon, a man was stabbed with a knife at 45th Street and Eighth Avenue near Times Square. The suspect, who fled the scene and reportedly ran into a bar, has now been arrested. The 30-year-old victim was reportedly taken to Bellevue Hospital and police say he will survive; according to NBC New York he has “a deep cut from the shoulder to the waist on the left side of his body.”

The intersection near the crime scene was closed off shortly after the stabbing took place; crowds quickly gathered to see what was going on, and others scrambled to bypass the closed areas to make it to Port Authority for the commute home.
