Planned Parenthood Clinic Targeted With Arson

Investigators have determined that the fire that struck a Planned Parenthood clinic in Pullman, Washington, early Friday morning was intentionally set, according to the Spokesman-Review. The office had recently been the target of a 500-person anti-abortion protest following the release this summer of videos, secretly recorded by anti-abortion activists, which insinuated the organization was profiting from the sale of fetal tissue. The fire caused enough structural damage to make the building uninhabitable, and Planned Parenthood is already looking for a temporary location to continue its work in the area. A Planned Parenthood clinic in nearby Spokane Valley was bombed in 1996, leading to the arrests and convictions of four members of a white-supremacist anti-abortion organization.
