Bill Clinton Gets His Own Email Scandal

Just as one Clinton scandal seemed to be coming to a close, the former president ignited a new controversy. Before a Hillary Clinton campaign event in Iowa on Saturday, Bill Clinton rallied the crowd by praising his wife’s performance at the Benghazi hearing on Thursday. “We had the friends of our lifetime emailing me furiously saying they thought she was doing great,” he said. “To everyone of them, I wrote back, ‘I think I’ll vote for her.’”

The problem: How was Clinton emailing furiously when his spokesman claimed in March that he’s only sent two emails in his entire life? The Daily Caller ran down the possible scenarios: “he’s either been misleading about his email habits all along; he only began using email within the past few months; or his assistants send emails on his behalf but he characterizes himself as the sender since he’s directing the action.” However, a Clinton aide tells Politico the answer is much simpler: Clinton misspoke, and meant to say he was texting. We look forward to hearing the real story during his 11-hour congressional testimony on the subject.
