Man Apprehended After Deciding to Swing a Samurai Sword Around Fifth Avenue Apple Store

Police tackled a man who decided to bring a samurai sword to the Fifth Avenue Apple Store on Friday afternoon and start swinging it — and dropping it — on the store’s spiral staircase. He was then transferred to Bellevue for psychiatric evaluation, according to the Daily News. The police officers who apprehended the man, who wore sunglasses and reportedly was yelling at employees, were off-duty, but they were being paid by Apple to provide security, according to NBC News. No one was injured during the incident.

And in case you were wondering, yes, there is an app for that, if by “that” you mean “doing something that involves the words samurai sword and Apple in a way that does not require police intervention.”
