Dick Cheney is going to live forever — or at least his bust will. A marble effigy of the former vice-president was officially unveiled at the Capitol on Thursday.

Former president George W. Bush stopped by to relay a message from his dad: “Send my best regards to old iron-ass.” (President George H.W. Bush was joking about comments he made about his son’s running mate that were recently published in the biography Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush: “He just became very hard-line and very different from the Dick Cheney I knew and worked with. Just iron-ass.”)

Vice-President Joe Biden also spoke. “I actually like Dick Cheney,” he said.

Also in attendance were— oh, wait, forget about them, is that Jon Stewart?

The former Daily Show host didn’t attend Cheney’s event — light ribbing was the only criticism on the invite list, judging from Biden and Bush’s remarks — but he was at the Capitol trying to gather support for long-term legislation that would help with the medical costs of 9/11 first responders. “We have a bunch of first responders outside freezing their asses off,” he said during a press conference, which several New York legislators attended. “Our country’s last responders, our country’s worst responders, are inside nice and comfy and cozy, and probably having soup.”
