Right to Rise USA, Jeb Bush’s super-pac, has decided to use some of its absurdly large bank account to help the former Florida governor pull ahead in the polls, and on Monday night it unveiled a new national-security-focused ad. The spot, which will air in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, takes aim at Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio, showing each candidate sitting in the Oval Office. “When the attacks come here, the person behind this desk will have to protect your family,” says the announcer. “Jeb has the experience and knowledge to protect your family.”
On the one hand, it seems like a risky strategy to ask voters to picture another Bush in the White House during an international crisis. On the other hand, that Trump mock-up was pretty scary.
