Two Window Washers Rescued From Hanging Scaffolding in Lower Manhattan

By

Scaffolding snapped loose at a building in lower Manhattan Tuesday morning, leaving two window washers trapped and dangling 17 stories above the street. The FDNY swarmed the scene, and reportedly firefighters pulled both men to safety through a broken window.

The men were working at a structure at Maiden Lane and Nassau Street in the Financial District. It’s unclear how the scaffolding came free, though there’s broken glass near the accident, says NBC News. Right now both men, who were apparently wearing harnesses, are believed to be uninjured.

This is a breaking-news story, and we’ll update as more information becomes available.
