Betting Markets — and Global Markets — Grow Volatile As Trump’s Chances Improve

Rural America is keeping Donald Trump far more competitive than polls had predicted. As of this writing, the Upshot’s model has him favored in Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Iowa — and in striking distance in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Democrats aren’t the only ones feeling antsy.

The Mexican peso is swinging wildly against the dollar, as fears of what a Trump presidency portends for our southern neighbor sow fear through currency markets, the BBC reports. Dow futures markets are plummeting, and Trump’s odds on betting markets are skyrocketing.

It’s going to be a long night.
