The Week the United States Won a Bunch of Medals

Evan Lysacek. Apolo Anton Ohno. Lindsey Vonn, Shaun White, and Shani Davis. Say it with us: USA! USA! Even our men’s hockey team won its first two games and sits atop the standings. But what happened this week that didn’t involve Bob Costas or Doc Emrick?

The Knicks acquired Tracy McGrady cleared some more cap space.

We bid farewell to Nate Robinson, and to the Natrix.

We watched a lot of bad college basketball, first at Fordham, then at Manhattan, and finally at Wagner.

Pitchers and catchers happened. The annual Joba debate followed shortly thereafter.

And they finally scheduled the 1989 New Jersey high-school-hockey title game.

That’s it for us. See you Monday.
