Hey, Remember Chris Dudley?

Of course you do. He was the Knicks’ big man from 1997 through 2000 who wasn’t Patrick Ewing, Marcus Camby, or Herb Williams. Anyway, the Yale grad is long retired now and running for governor in Oregon. Unfortunately, according to the Huffington Post, he’s about as bad at campaigning as he was at shooting free throws: He’s been faulted for his performance in debates, and party regulars say he doesn’t have a command of the issues. He has, however, raised $1.3 million, more than any of his opponents. (Contributors include David Stern and Nike founder Phil Knight. Also, Terry Porter is on his finance committee.) In case you’re reading this in Oregon and are undecided on who to vote for in next Tuesday’s primary, Dudley, a Republican, is running on a platform of tax reductions and curbs on government spending, and he advocates thinning timber to provide jobs.
