Those of you who enjoyed Stephen Rodrick's nice piece Friday about Kevin Blum and the Toms River Little League World Series were hopefully not watching the ESPN Family of Networks this weekend: Toms River lost 3-1 to Waipahu, Hawaii, and have now been eliminated from the tournament. We feel sad for those kids, but remember: Toms River is as close to major-league pressure as Little League gets, and maybe sometimes they take matters a little too seriously over there. (It is rare that a town's little league team has a whole book written about it.) Frankly, those kids should probably just move to a German Air Force base, like that "international" team did, and they can probably dominate.
