This Might Explain Andy Pettitte’s Terrible Outing Last Friday

The lefty, who allowed six earned runs in three and a third innings against Boston last Friday in his second start since returning from a groin injury, said his back was "pretty stiff" throughout the game, and though he knew the next day that he'd be all right, "you don't want to have anything going on, especially after what I've been through with my groin." At least Pettitte, who's kind of an important part of the Yankees' pitching staff as it enters the playoffs, says he'll have no problem making his last regular-season start on Friday at Fenway Park.
