A Recent History of Yankees Rookie Hazing

The Yankees' staged their annual rookie hazing after yesterday's season finale — a day later than originally planned, thanks to Friday's rain storm and the subsequent Saturday doubleheader. This year's theme: Saturday Night Fever, which meant rookies Colin Curtis, Greg Golson, Ivan Nova, Eduardo Nunez, and Kevin Russo donned seventies polyester while, according to Bryan Hoch's report, "Disco Inferno" and "Night Fever" blared from the clubhouse stereo. (Russo was tapped to dress as John Travolta's character, which we suppose is an honor, as far as these things go.) Photos have somehow yet to surface — c'mon, Swisher, this is why Twitter exists — but rookies in past years haven't been so lucky. Click ahead to see the likes of Robinson Cano, Hideki Matsui, and Melky Cabrera dressed as a cheerleader, a pimp, and a George Steinbrenner, respectively, as part of their rookie classes' hazing rituals.
