Jim Leonhard Injured at Practice, Likely Out for the Season

The Jets safety suffered a lower-leg injury in a collision with Patrick Turner during practice today — Chris Mortensen reports that the leg is broken — and will likely miss the rest of the season, a huge blow to the team's secondary, and one that comes just days before the team's highly anticipated matchup with New England. Eric Smith will take over Leonhard's role, and Brodney Pool will now start. Mike Westhoff says that Jerricho Cotchery and Antonio Cromartie will pitch in returning punts in Leonhard's absence.
