Report: Osi Umenyiora Out Two to Four Weeks

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - NOVEMBER 13: Osi Umenyiora #72 of the New York Giants warms up before their game against the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park on November 13, 2011 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

The Giants defense had, shall we say, a bit of trouble against Drew Brees and the Saints' offense on Monday. So this is hardly the kind of news they needed as they get set to face Aaron Rodgers and another ridiculous offense on Sunday: Osi Umenyiora has what a Daily News source calls a "real bad" sprained ankle, and he'll definitely miss this Sunday's game. Worse still, the report says he'll likely miss their critical game against the Cowboys on December 11, as well. (The report says he'll miss two to four weeks, though the paper's source says that even a return against Washington on December 18 might be "a longshot.") We hope we're wrong, but, man, this could get ugly on Sunday. Go Cardinals. [NYDN]
