Reports: The Angels Land C.J. Wilson Too

ST LOUIS, MO - OCTOBER 28: C.J. Wilson #36 of the Texas Rangers stands on the mound in the sixth inning during Game Seven of the MLB World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium on October 28, 2011 in St Louis, Missouri. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

The Angels already made the biggest splash of the off-season today, signing Albert Pujols to a ten-year mega-deal, but it appears they weren’t finished spending: According to multiple reports, they’ve also landed free-agent pitcher C.J. Wilson, agreeing to terms on a five-year contract worth about $77.5 million. Today’s a sad day for Cardinals fans, to be sure, but it’s a rough one for Texas Rangers fans, too: Not only have they seen a division rival land the best player in the sport, that same division rival has reportedly stolen away their ace, as well.
