A Date’s Been Set for Mariano Rivera’s Surgery

Mariano Rivera says that his blood clot cleared up last week and that he's set to undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his torn ACL. For what it's worth, even though he says he's not concerning himself with the timetable for recovery, he hasn't totally ruled out returning this season. ("Miracles happen," he said today.) A return in 2013, of course, is more realistic, and Rivera is confident he'll be ready by next season. Said Rivera: "No doubt about it, God willing."
