We were not at Jets camp yesterday, so we do not know for sure: Perhaps Mark Sanchez sprouted wings and began breathing fire, displaying his mortal superiority over the rest of his stunned, slightly charred teammates. Something must happened up in Cortland, because every sports section this morning is all, "Mark Sanchez is the quarterback! Nothing to see here!"
Let's go through the major sports sections for their top stories from Jets camp:
NY Post: "Sanchez ready to be one of the best QBs in the NFL."
NY Daily News: "Mark his words: 'This is my huddle.'"
ESPN New York: "This Is MY Huddle."
Newark Star Ledger: "Sanchez thinks he's a top 10 quarterback."
Yesterday was the last day for the Jets in Cortland — at last, Sal Paolantonio is allowed to go home — and apparently everyone decided that the story coming out of camp is that Mark Sanchez had not lost his starting quarterback job to Tim Tebow. So today it's the triumphant "this is Mark Sanchez's team, yeah!" narrative that will last until, oh, Sanchez throws his first interception, or Tim Tebow runs across the field shirtless again.
