The NHL Has Started to Cancel Real Games

Brad Richards #19 of the New York Rangers controls the puck in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Final against the New Jersey Devils during the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Prudential Center on May 21, 2012 in Newark, New Jersey.

The entire NHL preseason slate had already been canceled because of the latest lockout, so it was only a matter of time before real games were called off as well. And so, today, all games through October 24 (82 in total) were canceled, including five Rangers games: road contests at Los Angeles, San Jose, New Jersey, Buffalo, and Tampa Bay. Via ESPN, Bill Daly, the deputy commissioner, wouldn't say if these games could or would be rescheduled if a new CBA was reached soon. That would be a nice problem to have, though, wouldn't it?
