When does each issue of New York magazine mail?
New York magazine is timed to arrive by postal mail in the NY Metro area by Tuesday. An issue is not considered late until Friday. Delivery outside of this area may experience delays due to different handling by the post office.

Some copies in Manhattan and Long Island are eligible for hand delivery and are timed to arrive Monday morning. If your issue hasn’t arrived, you may contact MagsExpress at 1-800-738-3003 or newyorkmag@MagsExpress.com for a replacement copy within 24-48 hours.

The magazine is available on the app Sunday evening.

How can I send letters to the editor?

How can I locate my account number?

Account Number:

Your account number is the last 10 digits, minus the very last digit of the number that appears on your mailing label and is highlighted in the example here. Based on this example, the account number should be entered as “011011250.”

How can I activate app access for tablet and mobile devices?

PRINT SUBSCRIBERS / Apple Devices

Access to the app for iPhone and iPad is included with your print subscription. Just download the app from the App Store (for free) and follow these steps:

1. If this is your first time opening the app, tap Activate or Sign In on the welcome pop-up. If not:

a. On iPhone, click the three horizontal bars in the top navigation to access the menu. Tap Manage Account.

b. On iPad, push the sliding navigation bar up to see the Magazine/Library screen. Tap Manage Account.

2. Tap Activate below “I need to activate digital access.”

3. Choose My Account Number or My Mailing Address to create digital access, using the information from your magazine label.

4. Fill out the account number or mailing address screens. Your account number is the last 10 digits, minus the very last digit of the number that appears on your label. If you are using your mailing address, be sure it matches the one on your label.

a. Fill in your email address (this will be your username).

b. Create a password for your account (must be eight or more characters) and hit Submit. After a few moments, you’ll be taken to the app’s sign-in page. Enter your email and password combination and tap Sign In.

5. To enter the app’s Store/Library, raise the sliding navigation bar in an iPad. In an iPhone, tap the hamburger symbol to return to the home screen and then tap Magazine. All issues of your subscription that have been published will be ready to download and read. New issues will enter the Library as they become available.

6. If you delete or update the app, you may be required to sign in again with your email and password, but you do NOT need to re-activate.

PRINT SUBSCRIBERS / Android Devices

Access to the app for Android (phone and tablet) is included with your print subscription. Just download the app from the Google Play Store (for free) and follow these steps:

1. Tap the Activate Your FREE Digital Access banner on the home screen. Or go to My Account in the menu by tapping the hamburger icon in the top left corner.

2. Choose Activate with Account Number or Activate with Mailing Address to create digital access, using the information from your magazine label.

3. Fill out the account number or mailing address screens. Your account number is the last 10 digits minus the very last digit (only) of the number that appears on your label. If you are using your mailing address, be sure it matches the one on your label.

a. Fill in your email address (this will be your username).

b. Create a password for your account (must be eight or more characters) and hit Submit. After a few moments, you’ll be taken to the app’s Sign-In page. Enter your new email and password combination, and hit Sign In.

4. Return to the home screen by tapping the hamburger icon. Then tap Issues to enter the Store/Library. All issues of your subscription that have been published will be ready to download and read. New issues will enter the Library as they become available.

5. If you delete or update the app, you may be required to sign in again with your email and password, but you do NOT need to re-activate.

DIGITAL-ONLY SUBSCRIBERS (FROM NEW YORK MAGAZINE OR NYMAG.COM) / Apple devices

Download the app from the App Store (for free) and follow these steps:

1. If this is your first time opening the app, tap Activate or Sign In on the welcome pop-up. If not:

a. On iPhone, click the hamburger icon to access the menu. Tap Manage Account.

b. On iPad, push the sliding navigation bar up to see the Magazine/Library screen. Tap Manage Account.

2. Tap Purchased Elsewhere below ”I already have digital access.”

3. Enter your email address associated with the account and the password you created when you placed the order. If you didn’t create a password or cannot remember, it, tap the Forgot Password link and follow instructions (outlined below) for creating a new password. Then return to the app to sign in. After a few moments, you’ll be taken to the app’s home screen.

4. From the home screen, tap Library in the lower right corner of the iPad or Magazine in the menu of the iPhone. All issues of your subscription that have been published will be ready to download and read. New issues will enter the Library as they become available.

5. If you delete or update the app, you may be required to sign in again with your email and password, but you do NOT need to re-activate.

DIGITAL-ONLY SUBSCRIBERS (FROM NEW YORK MAGAZINE OR NYMAG.COM) / Android Download the app from the Google Play Store (for free) and follow these steps:

1. Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner to bring up the menu bar. Tap My Account.

2. Tap Sign In.

3. Enter your email address associated with the account and the password you created when you placed the order. 2. Fill in your email address, and hit Submit.


3. Check your email (or spam) account for an email from New York magazine Customer Service. Tap the Create Password link within the email.

4. On the next screen, enter your own password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.

[Note: your password can be one you’ve used before, as long as it contains at least 8 characters.

5. Hit Submit.

6. Check for an email from New York magazine Customer Service, confirming that you’ve successfully reset your password.

7. Reopen the app and return again to the Sign In screen (Manage Account/Purchased Elsewhere), and sign in using your new password.

BACK ISSUE STORE

What are Back Issues?
Back issues include current and older issues of New York magazine. Available back issues can be purchased from this website. Prices may vary, and the availability of an issue may differ according to customer demand.

I am having trouble placing an order. What can I do?
You can call 800-678-0900 to order by phone. All single copy orders must be paid at the time of order. You will need to provide the name of the magazine, exact cover date of the issue, and the number of copies you wish to order.

Can I place an order if I live outside the United States?
If you live outside the United States, enter your shipping address to place a back issue order. Additional shipping rates do apply.

Can I expedite my order?
To expedite your order, please choose the “FedEx 1 Day” option. The cost for shipping 1-9 issues is $18; 10 or more issues is $40. Orders received after 10:00am ET on Friday (or over the weekend) will be delivered on the following Tuesday. Alternatively, you may call 800-678-0900 and our representatives will be happy to assist. Please note PO Boxes and Canadian/international addresses are not eligible for expedited shipping.

What if I can’t find an issue I’m looking for?
If an issue isn’t here, then it is out-of-print and no longer available for sale. We do offer a color photocopy of an article and the cover only for issues that are no longer available. Please contact backissues@nymag.com for more details.

I’m not sure of the issue date for a particular issue? Can you help?
We have limited resources and can’t research older articles or photos. However, issues from April 1968 through 1997 can be found on Google Books and can allow for more targeted searches. Issues from 1998-present are searchable at nymag.com.

What digital editions are available?
The current issue of New York magazine and some older issues are available. Digital issues are available beginning with the 4/8/2013 issue.
