Anand Jon

Label Overview

Fresh out of Parsons School of Design, Anand Jon teamed up with his mother in 1999 to debut his eponymous label at New York Fashion Week, showing long, beaded skirts and silhouettes inspired by his native India. The label was known for its East-meets-West sensibility throughout the early 2000s, fusing traditional Indian motifs with sleek, modern looks. Jon introduced an embellished-denim line, Jeanisis, as part of his spring 2007 collection. The label was discontinued in March 2007, when Jon was charged with multiple counts of violent sexual assault. He was convicted of sixteen sex offenses in Los Angeles in November 2008 and faces multiple charges in New York and Dallas.
