Parsons grad Araks Yeramyan launched her eponymous line of luxury cotton lingerie in spring 2000. The collection gained a following among stylish celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kirsten Dunst, and Sofia Coppola, who prominently clad Scarlett Johansson in the underthings in Lost in Translation. Yeramyan designed a swimwear extension in 2004 and debuted her first ready-to-wear collection for fall 2006 on the New York runway. The Araks look combines silky, lingerie-inspired separates like camisoles and pretty tanks with menswear-inspired workwear, including long cardigans, blazers, and wide-leg trousers.
“My lingerie has always had more of a ready-to-wear feeling, so I felt that was the next logical step.”—Araks Yeramyan Women's Wear Daily
“Just as attitudes about lingerie have changed, so have ideas of luxury, Yeramyan says. Her version: Wear the most comfortable, most refined materials in cozy cuts and playful patterns every day, not just on special occasions.”—Vali Herman-Cohen The Los Angeles Times
