Fresh off a gig at Oscar de la Renta’s atelier, Reyes began his first season, spring 2006, as one of New York’s most hyped young designers. It was immediately clear that the twentysomething Colombian wunderkind had formed his sartorial vision chez Oscar. Uptown girls and modern tea partiers have embraced Reyes’s lighter-than-air cocktail numbers and breezy day ensembles, and his resort looks are garnering attention. The past few seasons indicate he’s cultivating his talents—and his socialite-rich clientele.
