If there were just one word to describe veteran designer Cynthia Rowley it might be "multi-tasker." This Illinois native designed her first dress at age seven and her whimsical style and gregarious nature have made her one of the most recognized personalities in fashion. Inspired by everything from colorful candy to thrift-shop finds, Rowley's signature looks are flirty yet sophisticated—and above all, fun. Never one to rest on her designer laurels, the inexhaustible Rowley continues to expand her reach in almost every conceivable direction—from men's wear, accessories and cosmetics to housewares for Target stores. She has even designed a concert tour t-shirt for pal Bruce Springsteen. Recently, Rowley has also hit the books, co-authoring a best-selling series of urbane primers with best friend and former New York Times deputy style editor Ilene Rosenzweig.
