Daily Fashion & Runway News
Feb 10, 2012
With Kelly Rutherford, Rebecca Romijn, and Toni Braxton.
Namesake designer Cynthia Rowley famously attempted to launch her fashion career by inviting New York’s most important editors to her first runway show—in her walk-up apartment. None attended, but it didn’t take long for the line of whimsical-yet-sophisticated dresses and skirts to get attention. The brand now includes menswear, handbags, eyewear, jewelry, home accessories, cosmetics, and fragrances, in addition to its now-signature flirty, vintage-inspired RTW.
“Cynthia Rowley has always been a good answer for young women in search of affordable party frocks without too much of an edge. With their distinctly American roots, Rowley's designs are reassuringly familiar, but with enough of a twist to keep them fresh.”—Nathan Cooper Style.com
“While Rowley may not be big on construction details or luxury fabrics, one thing can be said of her: She always has her tongue in her cheek.”—Joanna Rodger Style.com
