Label Overview

Inspired by her daughter Gabby, Donna Karan created DKNY in 1989 as a lower-priced offshoot of her Collection line. She established herself as a pioneer in the world of fast-fashion secondary lines, which she has called the “pizza to Collection's caviar.” Like the original Donna Karan collection, DKNY was purchased in 1996 by LVMH, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Inc.

What's Been Said

  • DKNY exemplifies New York. It's on the edge. Multicultural. . . and forever dressed in black.
