The Label

The brand was first founded by Herbert Gallen in 1949 as a blouse company. In 1962, Gallen hired Linda Allard as a design assistant and within two years she was Design Director. Her name was added to the Ellen Tracy label in 1984 and in 1991 she launched COMPANY, a lower priced line designed for weekend and casual work dressing. Allard also designed shoes, evening wear, and accessories.

The Look

Elegant, sophisticated looks to take you from the desk to dinner. Ellen Tracy initiated the concept of the total wardrobe for the working woman.

The Designer

George Collins Sharp is now Vice President of Design Ellen Tracy; he previously headed up the Escada collection in Munich, Germany.
