Australian-born designer Richard Tyler opened his first boutique at age 18 and his career has been on the rise ever since. After debuting a line for men in 1987, he followed up with a critically acclaimed women's-wear line in1989. He was named designer of the Anne Klein Collection four years later. Over the next few years, Tyler's impeccable tailoring and modern, elegant designs for Richard Tyler Couture earned him three CFDA awards, as well as a Michelangelo Shoe Award for his debut footwear collection. His high personal standards, including hand-finished detailing, have made him a favorite among discerning lovers of haute couture. He continues to expand, having recently debuted Richard Tyler Bride, handbag and scarf collections, and Tyler, his bridge line. In each of his collections, Tyler emphasizes quality, construction and fit, melding the best of American design and European Couture tradition.
