So, Michael Jackson …
So weird! I’ve been playing the drums since I was 10, and I used to play along with his stuff. Now if one of his songs comes on shuffle, I feel guilty when I skip it. You know in award shows, when they show slideshows of all the people who’ve died that year, and it’s like, I wasn’t really a fan of the Delfonics, so whatever—but him, you actually knew him. It makes me feel old.
How old are you?
Nineteen.
Your outfit kind of reminds me of Steve Urkel, from Family Matters.
I think of it as a mix between Urkel and some guy from the fifties. I try to take something that wasn’t traditionally thought of as cool and put my own spin on it.
Do you often wear pink?
My girlfriend said I look good in red, but red is my least favorite color. So I compromised and took up pink.
