New York Party Shuttle Tours

Five tours available: Downtown, Midtown, Uptown & Harlem, Nighttime Lights, and See It All. The latter hits all the most popular attractions like Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, and ground zero.

Duration of Tours:
3 to 5.5 hours.

The only bus tour with guides who disembark at each location then continue their commentary on the ground. For an extra $100, private tour groups can request a guide who speaks Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish. Adults, $49.99–$89.99; children, $39.99–$69.99; six-hour private van, $600–$900 (for up to twelve passengers); six-hour private shuttle, $1,950.

Tours are kid-friendly to the point that alcohol is prohibited, so this "party" is more like "family game night."

Gray Line

Over fifteen different tours and packages that range from niche (Showbiz Insiders) to all-embracing (the aptly titled Manhattan Comprehensive).

Most Popular Tour:
Classic New York, which encompasses Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, South Street Seaport, and the Empire State Building.

Duration of Tours:
2 to 8.5 hours as well as hop-on-hop-off tickets, which are valid 48 to 72 hours.
Tour guides on all buses provide commentary on sights and stops. Tours are available in French, German, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, or Spanish. Adults and children, $29–$110.

Reserve online. Print out your confirmation page or e-mail, then bring it to Gray Line New York Visitor Center at 777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets to receive your actual tickets.
With so many tours available, at least one should grab you ... unless you really don't like being grabbed.

City Sights NY

Tours include the Uptown/Harlem Route, the Downtown Route, the Brooklyn Route, and the Night Route. The All-Around Town Tour gives hop-on-hop-off privileges to all routes for 48 hours.

Duration of Tours:
2.75 to 3 hours with hop-on-hop-off tickets valid for 24 to 48 hours.
Knowledgeable guides provide historical information about each attraction. French, German, Italian, and Spanish language headsets can be rented for $5 Adults and children, $29–$194. (Prices may include entrance to attractions.)

Reservations are not required but they are recommended. Buy online for a $5 discount on each ticket.
The rooftop-seating-only Hop-On-Hop-Off buses are decked out with heated floors, individual PA systems, and a see-through canopy in very cold weather.

On Location Tours

A choice of three tours hitting some of the city's most famous film locations, from the outside of the Cosby house (NY TV and Movies) to New Jersey landmarks like Satriales (a stop on the Sopranos-themed excursion).

Duration of Tours:
3 to 4 hours.
Guides recount trivia and little known stories about locations and their relevance to the productions. German-speaking guides are available for the NY TV and Movie and the Sex and the City tours. Adults and children, $40–$46, plus a $2 ticket fee.
