Huffman’s kitchen spans the entire second floor and includes his work space, living room, and access to the courtyard. The walls and counters are covered in inexpensive four-by-four ceramic tiles; the floor is black Radial rubber usually seen in airports; the chromed “lunar panels” on the ceiling are from E&T Plastics.
Opposite, Huffman replaced the pebbled façade with minimalist gray stucco, stripped the cornice to the metal,
and added a steel front door. “When I first did it, people were like, ‘Oh, it’s so conspicuous.’ ”
