Tryouts were held earlier this summer for the right to be one of the 250 ball people at the U.S. Open. Most were teenagers, though there was one 32-year-old computer consultant who has worked at the tournament every single summer since 1989, when he was a high-school sophomore. Those pictured here also made the cut.
