Seven classic holiday movies that you can catch in the theater this year.

It's a Wonderful Life

It’s a Wonderful Life
IFC Center, 323 Sixth Ave., at W. Third St.; 212-924-7771; ifccenter.com
Frank Capra's masterpiece stands the test of time as a life-affirming holiday treat that will make you feel warm and loved and ready to live each day to the fullest, even if you've been feeling down recently. So why not watch Jimmy Stewart yell a "Merry Christmas" to Bedford Falls (even that wonderful ol' Building and Loan) on the big screen?
Dates: December 9 to December 27, various times (check the website for special screenings with Donna Reed's daughter, Mary Owen).
Tickets: $15, $11 children (12 and under) and seniors (62 and over), $10 members

Love Actually
Videology, 308 Bedford Ave., at S. 1st St., Williamsburg; 718-782-3468; videologybarandcinema.com
Alamo Drafthouse, 445 Albee Square West, nr. Dekalb Ave., Downtown Brooklyn; 718-513-2547; drafthouse.com
You may love this movie, or love to hate it, but one thing's for certain: Sometimes you really need to believe that "love, actually, is all around." So come for the scene of Hugh Grant dancing, stay to swoon (maybe ironically) at Colin Firth's slightly-off profession of love.
Dates:
Videology: December 17, 9 p.m.
Alamo Drafthouse: December 20, 7 p.m.
Tickets:
Videology: $10
Alamo Drafthouse: $15 with props, $40 with mug and props (Part of the interactive "Girlie Night" movie party, admission includes Christmas-themed viewing props.)

Miracle on 34th Street
Landmark Sunshine Cinema, 143 E. Houston St., nr. Eldridge St.; 212-260-7289; landmarktheatres.com
It might be a kids' favorite, but why not check out a midnight screening of this feel-good Christmas staple? That leaves plenty of time beforehand to peruse all the holiday window displays at Macy's.
Dates: December 16 & 17, 11:55 p.m.
Tickets: $12

White Christmas

White Christmas
Videology, 308 Bedford Ave., at S. 1st St., Williamsburg; 718-782-3468; videologybarandcinema.com
May your days be merry and bright at this rollicking "Slumber Party Film Society" viewing. Fall in love with Rosemary Clooney, marvel at Vera-Ellen's incredible dancing, be lulled into holiday cheer by Bing Crosby. There are a few screenings around town this year, but Videology has a special offer: Come with your sister, wearing a blue dress with a giant feather fan and you get a stocking full of goodies.
Dates: December 12, 9:30 p.m.
Tickets: $10

Elf
Alamo Drafthouse, 445 Albee Square West., nr. Dekalb Ave., Downtown Brooklyn; 718-513-2547; drafthouse.com
Props and participation are encouraged at this special screening of this new holiday classic. There will be a "snowball" fight in the theater, bells and bubbles provided for important scenes, and scratch-and-sniff cards for the perfect smell-o-vision experience. And if you buy a mug, you'll get one free tiki drink (alcoholic or nonalcoholic).
Dates: December 13, 7:00 p.m.
Tickets:$15 with props, $40 with mug and props

Home Alone

Home Alone
Landmark Sunshine Cinema, 143 E. Houston St., nr. Eldridge St.; 212-260-7289 landmarktheatres.com
Transport yourself back to a simpler time where a child getting abandoned by his family at Christmas (accidentally) could lead to high jinks and fun! Watching Kevin outsmart the bad guys can be pretty cathartic, and it's impossible not to cry at the end. Plus, you can revel in the fact that you can order cheese pizza whenever you want now because you're an adult, dammit!
Dates: December 9 & 10, 11:55 p.m.
Tickets:$12

Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Ross Hall at New York Botanical Garden, Bronx River Pkwy. at Fordham Rd., the Bronx; 718-817-8700; nybg.org
The holidays just don't seem complete without a screening of this Christmas cartoon favorite with the earworm theme song. And while you're at the Botanical Garden, make a day of it and check out the Holiday Train Show, an elaborate setup of toy trains navigating through miniature New York City landmarks.
Dates: December 24 at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and noon
Tickets: Admission included in All-Garden Passes: adults, $30; children (ages 2 to 12), $18; seniors and students, $28
