EN Japanese Brasserie

EN is planning a New Year’s experience you’re unlikely to find many other places on this side of the Atlantic: a traditional New Year’s Mochitsuki (the pounding of mochi rice cakes with a giant wooden hammer). Chef Abe Hiroki will supervise, but any diner that wants to give a swing will be welcome. A keg of sake will be tapped at the stroke of midnight, and two prix fixe options will be available for ($115 and $165), in addition to a vegan menu.

Freemans

From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Freemans is pulling out all the stops for its New Year’s Eve party, featuring D.J.’s, hors d’oeuvres, hot food stations, an open bar, and a Champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $190 and guests are asked to dress in their swanky-delight best.

Hecho en Dumbo

Hecho en Dumbo will be celebrating with an evening of unlimited antojitos (their updated takes on Mexican street food), plus a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight for $75. They will also offer an all-night premium open bar option for $100 and D.J. sets from Heroes of the Galleon Trade will get going at 10 p.m.

Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar

Isola Trattoria will host a cocktail party starting at 9 p.m., featuring live music by jazz musician Brian Newman, who recently performed with Lady Gaga on SNL, and his wife, Angie Potani. Tickets are $125. Table packages are also available and include platters of assorted dishes from 9 to 11 p.m.
