Waiting for Midnight

New Year's Eve parties to help you ring in 2015 with flair.

Some people celebrate one way ...

Sleep No More Winter Masquerade
The McKittrick Hotel ; 530 W. 27th St., nr. Tenth Ave.; 212-904-1883; 6 p.m.; $300–$350
It's dinner, a show, and then some when you begin the evening with the "Royal Feast," then make your way though the popular immersive play to end up at the Winter Masquerade ball, which will no doubt be resplendent with finery. And note: They're strictly enforcing the dress code of black or gold, which should go nicely with the creepy SNM masks and suggested sensible shoes.

Webster Hall New Year's Eve Ball 2014
Webster Hall; 125 E. 11th St., nr. Third Ave.; 212-353-1600; 8 p.m.; $75–$150
This multilevel extravaganza will feature DJs, fire displays, and live TVs showing the drop in Times Square. There's a Champagne toast at midnight and a continental breakfast the next day, but balloon fanatics will show up for what they're saying is the "Largest Balloon Drop in the Free World." And dance-floor fiends will be especially pleased to know that their tickets can be used all year for weekend entry into the club.

Single and the City
Stitch Lounge; 247 W. 37th St.; nr. Eighth Ave.; 212-362-2590; 7 p.m.; $65
Lonely hearts, never fear: There's two floors of singles ready to mingle at this speed-dating party. Aided by an open bar from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., ice breakers, and a Champagne toast, there's no reason not to score that midnight kiss.

Wild Life NYE With Disclosure
Pier 94; 711 Twelfth Ave.; nr. 53rd St.; 8 p.m.; $100–$125
If one of your New Year's resolutions is to dance on a pier, you're in luck, as the duo Disclosure is planning a night on the water you'll not soon forget. On the lineup: a DJ set from the U.K. brothers, plus Dirtybird bossman Claude VonStroke, electronic U.K. duo Dusky, and Lithuanian producer Ten Walls.

New Year's Eve Lovefest
The Slipper Room; 167 Orchard St., nr. Stanton St.; 212-253-7246; 9 p.m.; $35 general admission (standing); $65 balcony; $100 VIP front row
Some of the burlesque world's top talent want to spend their last night of 2014 with you. Lucky! The $100 VIP ticket gets you front-row seats, two free drinks, and plenty of up-close shimmying, but spring for the $1,000 "Party Playpen" and you and 11 of your friends get your own private area with three bottles of Champagne and a dedicated cocktail waitress.
