I would live in this photograph if such a thing were possible. Crawl right in, glue myself to that leather couch, and never, ever leave.
Fireplace? Check. Newspaper? Check. Most comfortable outfit in the world, perfect for lounging around glorious Maine cabins featuring wood paneling and stone accents (and a faux duck!)? Check.
I’m one of those people who, if given their druthers, would wear more or less the same thing every single day. I switch it up according to the seasons (denim shorts in the summer, my husband’s ugliest – and warmest – plaid button-down in the winter), and when I have to leave the house and see actual human beings who might notice the fact that I’m wearing more or less the same thing every single day…but when I’m working from home (or reading newspapers in front of fireplaces while on vacations up North), I break out The Uniform.
This fall, The Uniform consists of a loose gray sweater, minimal (but high-impact) jewelry, skinny jeans that are so comfortable that they’re basically pajamas, and boots that are both perfect for braving the elements and stylish enough for the city streets.
