When Alessi, maker of high-design kitchenware, set out looking for a temporary home while its flagship store underwent renovations, Scavolini, maker of high-design kitchens, made sense. From now until the beginning of May, Alessi will operate as a store-in-a-store within Scavolini’s Soho showroom. As it says in the window: “Two Italian masters in the kitchen, together for two months only.”

For the next two months, you’ll find Alessi products dressing Scavolini kitchen setups. Here, four different place settings, four different flatware collections, three sets of stemware, and various other kitchen tools from Alessi, set up in Scavolini’s Scenery kitchen.

Tonight also marks the first in the partnership’s “Italy Comes Alive!” series of cooking demonstrations from some of New York’s best chefs. At tonight’s event, Mark Ladner of Del Posto will demonstrate Italian cooking at home. Subsequent events will make use of Alessi’s baking and espresso-related pieces. For information about any of the events, or to RSVP, e-mail italycomesalive@bdeonline.biz.
