How an Art Gallery Holds a Stoop Sale
One of Chelsea’s best-known galleries, Matthew Marks, just opened a pop-up, aptly named the Poster Shop. Found on the second floor of Marks’s West 22nd Street space, the shop houses a trove of finds from Marks’ vast personal collection, including vintage rock posters (most under $100), as well as rare books and original artwork by the likes of Lichtenstein, Ruscha, and Van Lamsweerde (526 W. 22nd St., nr. Tenth Ave.; 212-243-0200; Tues.–Sat., 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; through the end of January).

From Carrie Bradshaw’s House to Your Own
The furniture reseller Film Biz Prop Shop, recently transplanted from Long Island City to much larger digs in Gowanus, has found a very peculiar niche among the city’s design shops. Its stock comes from TV, film, and commercial sets, with items hand-picked by set designers, used (briefly) by actors both famous and anonymous, and donated by various producers. Their new, 11,000-square-foot warehouse is filled with day-old props, furniture, and apparel—all used by films and shows like Sex and the City II, Rescue Me, and Top Shop, and now priced at about half the original cost (540 President St., nr. Fourth Ave., Gowanus; no phone yet; filmbizpropshop.org).

Help for the Non-Crafty
Design*Sponge and Brooklyn Flea are collaborating to share some of their collective DIY know-how this weekend at Gifted: A Holiday Market. On Saturday, sign up to fashion handmade miniature ecosystems, useful as either ornaments or centerpieces, with moss aficionados Twig Terrarium (Dec. 18, 10 a.m.; $20–$30). Sunday offers wreath-making with Design*Sponge editor Amy Merrick using more conventional materials, like pinecones, berries, and succulents (Dec. 19, 10 a.m.; $40). Both workshops include all the necessary greenery, as well as a gift label by Brooklyn designer Julia Rothman (Skylight One Hanson, 1 Hanson Pl., at Ashland Pl., Fort Greene; brooklynflea.com).
