Space of the Week: Soho House Gets a Revamp

Soho House has just had a makeover. Vicky Charles, the woman in charge of the project, got her start as waitress at the club’s London flagship twelve years ago. She’s now the resident designer, and her experience surely helped her refresh the original décor while staying true to the “casual glam” aesthetic first introduced by Ilse Crawford back in 2003. When I stepped into the updated pantry bar, I didn’t want to leave. The French butcher-block counter, original Toledo Stools, and vintage lights create such a cozy atmosphere. A renovated guest room. The walls are paneled with reclaimed wood culled from a barn in upstate New York, the vintage rug came via ABC Carpet, and the standing lamp is from Visual Comfort. Photo: Courtesy of Soho House

Each new bathroom features a unique scheme of patterned tiles; these are from Exquisite Surfaces. Photo: Courtesy of Soho House

This freshly updated room showcases a cherub bed originally from La Maison. It was there since the hotel opened, but it has been repurposed by Charles. Photo: Courtesy of Soho House

This statement bath is front and center in the room, and it is just as glamorous as the cherub bed. Photo: Wendy Goodman
