Otsu packed his 1,100-square-foot terrace with so much produce (as well as a garden shed and compost heap), he barely needs to shop. He lugged the plants and dirt from Home Depot himself.

Otsu designed the garden shed. With its blue color and decorative bull’s head (as well as the surrounding lushness), it feels like a farm shack in Tuscany.
