The Lampshades (left): Mirrored and covered with hanging crystals, they (and the collection of mirrors on the wall) keep the river light moving around the apartment.

The Master Bath (right): Van Amringe hid the rental bathroom’s blandness by filling it with antiques: an apothecary cabinet holds her botanical books and a hand-carved coat stand from the Black Forest shaped like a bear-filled tree. Manolo Blahnik gave her the red-fur-and-suede shoes (top right corner); she has yet to wear them.
