Introducing “My ‘New York’”

Ooh, a new drop-down menu.

For a while now, you readers have been able to leave your little fingerprints all over nymag.com. You’ve been commenting on the stories in the magazine and on the blogs, and leaving reviews of your favorite (and least favorite) restaurants, bars, stores, and spas in the listings. But until now, there’s been no way for you to keep track of (and admire!) all your work in one place. A wise man once said: “The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on.” But in moving on, you may have been missing out! You forgot about the crappy experience you had at that place on 43rd and accidentally went back. You never checked back at the joke you left on that Vulture post, so you didn’t see that everyone totally LOLed and the editors made it an Editor’s Pick.

And what’s more, you haven’t been keeping track of what other people have been saying or doing. But our new feature, “My New York,” ensures that you will no longer walk through life so tragically unaware.

Now, when you log in to nymag.com, you’ll find you can track and sort your comments, fashion albums, and reviews. Just select the “My New York” link in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage. You’ll see all of the comments you’ve posted on articles and blog posts on nymag.com, with links back to the original articles. And if you see someone else whose comments (or fashion choices, or restaurant reviews) you’re interested in, you can click on the name and see their entire body of work. It’s a nice way to keep up with discussions of interest to you. And if you want, you can make certain biographical information about yourself public. So go ahead — be somebody on our Website! Maybe, like Scott Rose, you too can develop your own following.
