Okay, This Election Is Basically Over

Following in the footsteps of newly legitimate National Enquirer, the Weekly World News — which stopped publishing last year but has lived on as an insert in the Sun and, now, online — breaks some pretty major political news on their Web site today:

With the Democratic convention hours away, Barack Obama has won a bitter fight with Republican Rival John McCain for the coveted endorsement of the space alien.

Oh, ha, you say. The alien. But know this, naysayer: The Weekly World News alien has accurately predicted the outcome of every presidential election since Ronald Reagan won in 1980. They don’t call them “intelligent” life forms for nothing, okay? According to the News, the alien, accompanied by former New York mayor David Dinkins, will show his support for Obama in Denver this week.
