In 1997, Mayor Bloomberg gave $26.6 million to charity. Every year since then, he’s given more, reaching $205 million in 2007 and a whopping $235 million in 2008. Even more mind-boggling than that is the fact that he’s only the ninth most generous charitable donor in America.
