As expected, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, after offering a hearty “Thanks, boys” (we imagine) to The Wall Street Journal for digging up the names of some of the Merrill Lynch executives who accepted multimillion dollar payouts in the face of the firm’s disintegration last year and providing him with a cut-and-paste hit list, has wasted no time issuing subpoenas to said executives. The Bonus Buster will see Peter “Dirty Sexy Money” Kraus et al in the interrogation room soon, where he will presumably extract information about whether the distribution of bonuses violated securities law by “any means necessary.”
