Rudd and Norton at the I Love You, Man Screening

In the bromantic comedy I Love You, Man, Paul Rudd’s character gets into some awkward situations trying to make male friends in preparation for his wedding, for which he needs a best man. One man-date in particular goes awry when the guy he’s with suddenly leans across the table and kisses him. At last week’s Cinema Society screening, we asked if he’d ever had anything similar happen to him in real life. Rudd stuttered and walked away, but his co-star Jason Segel — who bared all in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and more recently, wore a nude body stocking on the cover of Vanity Fair — had nothing to hide. “When I was 12 years old I had a kid in my elementary school who knew I loved comedy say to me, ‘Hey, do you want me to teach you how they kiss on Saturday Night Live?’” he told us, “Because there had just been the first guy-guy kiss on Saturday Night Live. And I said, ‘Yeah, sure. I would love that; I love comedy.’ And he said, ‘All right, I’m going to show you.’ And then he just kissed me. There was no trick, it was just a proper kiss.” Oh, we think there was a trick all right.
