Artists Take Over City Billboards

Yesterday a group of artists, encouraged by the Public Ad Campaign, painted over the advertisements on about 120 billboards around downtown Manhattan with art. “Real art,” blogs reporter-filmmaker Barbara Celis, the kind that doesn’t “sell products but spreads joy, curiosity, culture and smiles.” Personally, we have nothing against ads. We LOVE ads. But pictures are neat. [Cronicas Barbaras, Wooster Collective, Please Enjoy]
