We’ll buy Megan McArdle’s analogy about Obama’s economic adviser Larry Summers, though not for the reasons she gives: “A) Larry Summers is really, really smart B) He knows a lot about global financial markets and C) Bankers, like everyone else, like to be near famous and powerful people.” Larry is like Brangelina because (a) he’s rich and famous, (b) everyone is chattering away about his personal business when clearly there is way more important stuff to be talking about, and (c) the man exudes sheer sexual magnetism.
