Last month, James Franco bowed out of a commencement address he was expected to give at his alma mater, UCLA. At the time, it was rumored that he had been pressured to recuse himself by a 600-student-strong Facebook group, “UCLA Students Against James Franco as Commencement Speaker,” started by a Tracy Flick–like former classmate of Franco’s called Erin Moore. “He was in our class,” Moore told the L.A. Times. He’s not a role model. He hasn’t had time to accomplish anything with his degree.” But now, it seems, there might have been another reason. Funny or Die has unearthed outtakes from what they claim is James Franco’s rejected speech. It has its moments.
